So last monday night in RI we had a small interest meeting about our future church plant in Providence. It was really neat.

Our friends who hosted us for the two days also hosted the meeting. Another couple who sometimes travel to the cambridge MA Vineyard came with their sweet new baby girl, and another single woman who has been to a vineyard in Illinois also came. It was a neat time of us sharing our story and what we hope to accomplish and all that. And eating good food. Our friends’ daughter had turned one and they had a huge party the day before so we got lots of really yummy leftovers for dinner and then the meeting. yum.

Luke was leading worship at the end of the meeting and Bruce was so cute, he was sitting on the couch next to Luke and “playing along” on his white ukulele very seriously the whole time. It was quite a moment.

So it was a humble beginning, but nonetheless it was neat to be in Providence talking about our dreams to other people. We’ll see how far away that future of having a church is, but in the meantime that was a cool first step for this part of the journey.
