blog slack

You may notice that, especially on the kids blog, I tend to do like 8 posts in one day then not again for a week.  Usually this is timed with when I remember to get the pics off the camera.

Anyway, some funny Lily stories:

She likes to say- “I love it! or yes, I love that!” it’s hilarious. for instance today she said, I love these pants! I love apple juice! can I have more tea? I love that!” ha ha ha

She also likes to say, I don’t like it! LIke mama stop it I don’t like it, when I put her hair in pigtails.

this is hard to believe because then she asks for her mirror so she can admire the pig tails ;)

recently she has taken to trying to nurse her baby doll when I am nursing Ollie. However today she elevated this VERY cute act to being hilarious.

She had the following conversation with her father:

lifting up her shirt to try and nurse her baby doll-  where are my milks? I don’t have milks. mama has milks…….Ollie drinks milk form mama.

my milk is in my sippy cup! ha ha ha ha

she repeated this later and I got to expirence it. She was confused why she didn’t have “milks”. I told her not to worry, she would have milks when she grew up and had her own baby. then she got distracted and said- look my belly! ha ha ha

anyway. it was cute.

Today Ollie refused to sleep if not being held. I Was a little worn out by this. I managed to sneak out for speed grocery shopping. Speed grocery shopping is obtained only when child free and you can actually shop without a giant car-cart shopping cart. Also, knowing that Ollie might be angry keeps me from staring at things I may or may not buy, I just go in, stick to my list (mostly) and get out. It’s kind of exhilarating.

I tried for the last month to be really good at keeping a grocery budget. I did ok. I ended up like $20 over. not terrible, but not great. I seriously spend over $100 a week (average). I never seem to keep a good grocery budget. I miss aldi desperately. sniff sniff. I miss cheap canned goods. I found a store near me that is ok, but really it;s not great. Not as clean, interesting or full of choices as my dearly missed aldi. oh well.

Luke worked his last saturday for his dad for a while. He fills in when he’s needed but now he’ll actually go back to a 5 day work week….plus whatever freelance work he has. you know, so he’s down to like 2 jobs instead of three. ha ha

He got a pay raise from his day job so we splurged and got cable. It is largely so we can get the channel that plays the red sox, which you have to get cable to see. But I REALLY splurged and got the dvr too. Oh man, it’;s already made us happy. The kids love the free on demand channel where there are loads of free kipper and thomas the tank engine episodes. weeeee

Bruce is fun. This week we were reviewing three and four and so we did three and four sided shapes. Bit since we already talked about triangles and squares and rectangles…I decided it would be fun to try and teach him parallelogram rhombus and quadrilateral. Ha ha ha. it’s fun. It thinks its funny and he likes saying the big words.  We’ve been getting free coupons to go to this place called jokers that has this GIANT indoor playground obstacle course thing. It’s just HUGE. Bruce is really getting good at muscling himself up things that seem to hard for him. He loves finding his way around the maze to the slides. We spent two hours there and he was in the maze almost the whole time. Lily gets to play in a little free area with a ball pit and little slide and play house. Even she is getting braver at those things. It;’s been nice to have something inside to do as spring sloooooowly creeps into maine.

oh and I’ve been working out a bit each week and lost about 6 pounds woo hoo!

that’s all.
