Rain rain rain rain rain and some more rain

Thursday, July 2nd, 2009

23 out of 30 days in june we saw no sun. it rained almost everyone of those days and it has topped 65 like, I don’t know -twice?!

July has started the same.

I mean its July 2cd and I made baked oatmeal IN THE OVEN, and am making ravioli, sausage and red sauce w/ a side of crusty bread for supper. in July. not October when this is our favorite meal, but JULY.

anyway, I’m tired of it.

but on to better news.

My mommy came monday and tuesday and corralled the kids while I did some VERY productive organizing, sorting and repacking and freecycling in anticipation for our move to the Boston area sometime in…..well sometime.

you see the tax man still hasn’t sent us our taxes and so we don’t know if the estimated payments we made were good enough, overpaying (such a dreamer) or drastically underpaying, and so we don’t know if the lovely savings account contains moving money or federal and state tax money. so we don’t have a move date. (or an apartment or job yet, but you know, little things little things).

anyway it was fabulous. Ollie totally hung with gram and the sibs, and  as long as he couldn’t see me much he was ok, until he was hungry of course.

I went wild on the back closet and then played around in the basement, combining boxes and making LARGE piles for freecycling. I seriously had 3 giant freecycle lists and all but one item has been picked up. only two more items were not requested. it was awesome. I keep giving away items that we realize we don’t need anymore, making it so we’ll move less boxes.

then today Ollie took a two hour nap. it was amazing. he had been taking 2 minute naps and was being generally sleepy for long parts of the day. I finally set him down on my bed on his belly while I ran to the bathroom today. I returned to find him snuggled in and sleeping. he would wake up a little readjust himself, sigh then fall back asleep. wow it was awesome. I got to take a real live nap even, because he didn’t wake up and want to play or nurse.  Of course, I woke up every time he moved to make sure he was breathing and because I assumed he’d want me to feed him. he just resettled himself.

GLORY TO GOD,

Hallelujah

seriously.

it’s like the sun was shining on me.

except it was wasn’t.

it was raining.

AGAIN

ahem.

anyway, its nice now that he rolls over and belly crawls and stuff because he can actually sleep on his belly which is a nice change of pace from the little newborn months when he cannot.

sniff. he;’s so big. he belly crawls long distances, eats avocados and bananas (especially together because avocado alone is not so much his fav) and just generally seems to be growing up too fast.

not to mention he has 2 teeth already and appears to be teething some more.

sniff. he’s the third baby he’s supposed to stay small.

anyway. that is life from here. got family in from CA and all that so hopefully we’ll get to have fun times and do OUTDOOR type things.

not that I am whining.
