Look at what we’ve done

Monday, March 31st, 2008

(can you tell that I am feeling lazy and unmotivated to do much this afternoon…this is like my 4th post of the day….it’s the cold and the snow, it’s making me feel like hibernating)

So after a day of watching kiddie shows, we have instructed Brucie that the shows we watch at night are mommy and daddy shows. Since we don’t want him traumatized by Law and order criminal intent or say House, we watch other “grown up” shows when he is awake.

Often that is baseball or football or sometimes basketball. But lately it’s been Ninja Warrior and Mythbusters.

So much so that now Brucie likes to proudly proclaim, “let’s watch nin-gee Warrior, that’s a mama and a daddy and a boy show”. Ha. As a result, lately he seems to be making the house into his own personal obstacle course and climbing on EVERYTHING and basically doing feats of strength and daring. If he starts apologizing for bringing shame to his family when he falls off the furniture, then we’ll be in big trouble.

When Ninja warrior fails to excite our attention, Mythbusters  does not. I mean recently they blew up a water heater, and a cement truck. HELLO, that is quality t.v. In case you didn’t know it, Mythbusters is this fabulous show where they test common myths to see if they are confirmed, plausible or busted. Like, did mikey really die from pop rocks and soda? Is it true that you should leave the lights on when you leave a room and are coming right back up, or is it better to shut them off every time? And will jeans catch on fire if you are being pulled behind a horse thru cow dung?

Come on, these are important questions for science.

And we seriously are addicted to the show. We go through and manually set the dvr to record the repeats we haven’t seen and also have a series recording set up for the new ones. Oh yeah, we’re addicts.

not addicts enough to join the fan site and send in myths and make comments or anything.

yet.

But as a result, we have totally geeked out our child who now asks for Nin-gee warrior or mythbusters as his pre-bedtime entertainment. He also watched a “healthy” diet of superhero cartoons and therefore assigns everyone a new superhero character a day, and requires us to stay in character.

Friday and saturday Maila was catwoman, and he referred to her as such for the two days.

he also will pick up toys and turn them into ray guns and zappers, so like at sunday school he picked up a toy drill and said, “look a ray gun” and went around zapping things.

he didn’t know it was a tool

what have we done?!!!!

Wow, that was clever
