So as we looked forward to the day when basement cat would not be our problem, manipulative crazy cat lady added yet ANOTHER wrinkle in the story.
Upstairs neighbor would now be the one responsible for driving the cat to the vet at 8:30am, about a half hour plus up the highway, in rush hour traffic, for its operation. Then also going back to retrieve. it when it was done.
and don’t forget caring for it as it healed….
This caused basement cat to be trapped earlier than anticipated so the men could plot make a plan.
We got a call from the upstairs neighbor, this cat is a pet. there is no way this cat is this fat and well looking and NOT a pet. Luke went to concur. it appeared to be true.
One of the neighborhood ladies is an expert on all the neighborhood cats. She determined whose cat it was.
A call was put in.
eventually the cat was claimed by that neighbors son who had been in charge of “caring” for the cat while his mother was away. He was relieved to know where it was.
The cat is gone gone gone whoa whoa whoa. Quite happily to all of us for it is back being an indoor/outdoor cat being fed and cared for by others.
manipulative crazy cat lady was suspicious, but we are all relieved.
And there you have it. the stray ferrel cat was no such thing and the drama is over
I can now do laundry without singing loudly and yelling, hey cat go away I’m doing laundry.
not that I did that…..
