We found an apartment! It rocks, the landlord loves the kids. We rock. everything is cheery :)

the cooler weather really helps my mood, can you tell ;)  (its in the 70’s here today. it was in the 90’s the last few days, pregnant chicks don’t like 90’s just FYI)

we do have to leave the town we’re in, not that we were madly super in love with it, but it does mean extra MORE CHANGE. cause my kids are really excited about that, (not to mention their parents, ewww change).  HOWEVER, we are less than 1.5 miles from a set of friends from church who just had their first baby and whom we love and it doesn’t make us further away from our other friends, whom we love but who live out in the stick-ish area (which is so restful to visit.). and its not too far from church, like 10-15 minutes so that is acceptable.

The kids were won over by the nearness of the library and parks. and the size of the apt, keep in mind the one we live in now is T-I-N-Y. They kept ooohhing and aahhhing over the closets. HA

So:

its three bedrooms, plus one of the rooms has an attached “office” (i.e. you can only get to it through the bedroom) which will house Luke’s recording equipment and my SEWING MACHINE ahhhhhhh oh man that is soooo coool. permanently set up sewing machine, yessssss

kitchen is eat in and smallish, however, there is an extra pantry room where the fridge hides that has more shelves and a few more cabinets. plus she redid the kitchen so its all shiny like. with a dishwasher. yeah a dishwasher and a gas stove, sing with me- “these are a few of my favorite things”

oh yeah it has a nice porch and a really decent sized (shared) back yard esp for the kids. (I mean their sizes, like we don’t need a baseball field). speaking of which there are two huge parks (with baseball fields) really close by and the big library is just under a mile away. so yeah, we have to move towns and all that, but we are going to be in a sweet location.

It is on the 2cd floor which is tricky but even Ollie is getting good at stairs. also we get one half of a driveway, oohh ahhh.

did I mention FREE ON SITE LAUNDRY???  Oh I left that out? silly me.

We will move the very last weekend in june giving us time to, you know, PACK. We slacked off packing when the apartment hunting started to get grizzly and depressing.  I personally hate calling strangers and it got depressing to literally get hung up on by people and the whole thing was stressful.

BUT NOW, people, we have a place. It just feels good to not have to slog through craigslist ads for a long time and to have a landlord who not only will tolerate having us there, but was happy to have us and was immediately ok with pro rating us to the last weekend of june even though the apartment is available as of tuesday next week. YESS, Thank you God.

Seriously, had to pray as it got so overwhelming. After the kids and I explained all its merits to Luke (Bruce: we passed THREE Dunkin Donuts on the way there dad. and it has a really big back yard just right for us. Lily: the livingroom was bigger than ours), we realized moving mid june would still be tricky so I asked God to work it out- I was like, look if this is the place, smooth things over with the landlord.

I waited all morning to call the landlord ha ha. I ended up getting her voicemail (ideal) and left her a msg with our plan and she called back in like 10 minutes all thrilled we were taking it. She is so happy to have us. The kids completely won her over (despite Bruce refusing to tell her his name, but they were well behaved. this might have had something to do with bribing, but I am not telling).

Anyway. you may be able to tell I am a little giddy, but seriously we have never tried this hard to find a place…ever. ever ever and we’ve been married 10 years this august and moved like 7 or 8 times….

Anyone who lives anywhere near us, come help us move the weekend of june 25th, 26th 27th. You will be rewarded with take out food the day you help and a coupon to a KILLER grilling out experience to follow as soon as we are more settled. maybe july 4th weekend? in our yard. did I mention we will have a yard?

thanks to all who have been praying and who commiserated with us as we stressed. fussed, had peace, got all riled up again,  and finally gave up. It was almost a week maybe b/w emailing this landlord and her calling back and we hardly looked at craigslist and just told God, fine, you find a place.

life is funny….sort of.

oh to find a map of the street- its olcott st watertown mass (couldn’t get it to link correctly)  just cause you all care so much…or because you want to know where the smell of bbq’ing and the sounds of music and sewing and laughing are coming from ;)
